Senior Manager Credit Execution Lead

As a Senior Manager Credit Execution within Commercial Banking, Western Canada, you will play a pivotal role in driving National Bank's growth and expansion in the region. In this position, you will lead a team of underwriting professionals, focusing on both growth and risk objectives.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of credit underwriters, providing coaching and mentoring, and developing a pipeline of key talent;
- Support the Commercial Banking, Western Canada team in managing and growing an existing portfolio of commercial lending relationships;
- Work with team members on initial transaction analysis and deal structuring;
- Manage and review credit applications before submission to Credit Risk Management to ensure they meet the highest standards of financial analysis, credit structuring, and risk identification and mitigation;
- Occasionally author credit applications for the most complex transactions;
- Provide assistance to the underwriting team with the presentation of their credit applications and challenge team members to think beyond the surface to develop financing scenarios that meet both client needs and the Bank's risk criteria;
- Coordinate and lead discussions with Credit Risk Management;
- Manage and monitor the loan portfolio to ensure alignment with the Bank's established parameters;
- Work with Account Representatives and back-office staff to ensure required conditions are met prior to funding;
- Assist the Head of Credit Execution, Western Canada, as required, in reviewing the credit quality of the Commercial Banking, Western Canada portfolio.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field;
- Professional designation(s) and/or an advanced degree is considered a strong asset;
- 10+ years of related commercial banking experience;
- Experience building, developing, and leading a team of high-performing credit underwriting professionals;
- Exceptional commercial credit analysis skills, and the ability to creatively problem-solve;
- Clear, succinct, and persuasive credit writing capabilities;
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to blend strong technical knowledge with sound business judgment;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to effectively collaborate with partners at all levels.
