Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team at White Birch Lodge. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and serve food and beverages to customers in a fast-paced environment
    • Operate manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items
    • Portion and wrap foods
    • Package take-out food
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment
    • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
    • Scour pots and pans
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to customers in a fast-paced environment
    • Take customers' orders
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
  • Inventory and Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
    • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
  • General Duties
    • Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of our food service areas
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service environment
  • Language and Communication
    • English language proficiency
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to stand for extended periods
    • Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding. Overtime may be required.
