Job Title: Head Cashier

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Head Cashier to join our team at J-Town By the Sea, Inc.

Job Summary

The Head Cashier will be responsible for overseeing the cash handling operations of our retail store, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure that all cash handling tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Authorize payments by cheque and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Order merchandise and ensure that all stock is properly received and stored.
  • Authorize the return of merchandise and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that all employees are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Perform same duties as workers supervised, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail or cash handling environment.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered.
Work Environment

The Head Cashier will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail is essential for this role.

Language

The primary language of work is English.Hours of Work

The Head Cashier will work 40 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
