English Language Arts Instructor for Calgary Students

We are seeking an experienced English Language Arts instructor to join our team at NeoBright Tutoring in Calgary. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering lessons and providing support to students in grades 10-12.

About the Role

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility in scheduling. You will be working with students who are looking to improve their English language skills, and your primary focus will be on teaching the high school English Language Arts curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and experience in working with students who require extra support. You should be able to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of individual students and create a positive learning environment.

You will be paid $40-$50 per hour for your services, which includes compensation for marking and planning as well as attending staff meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons to students in grades 10-12, focusing on the high school English Language Arts curriculum
  • Provide one-to-one tutoring and group class instruction
  • Grade assessments and assignments
  • Offer feedback on student performance
  • Meet with the service team to discuss student progress and provide information
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of one year of teaching experience in a Canadian public, Catholic, or private junior high/high school
  • A grade 12 diploma and a willingness to work outside of regular school hours
  • Good teaching skills and an affinity for working with children
  • Liability insurance is not required but highly recommended
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada
