About the Role:

The Irving Woodlands is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Manager to lead the team at the Irving Nature Park. As the leader of the park team, you will be responsible for overseeing projects and employees, ensuring the highest standard of care and user experience, and maintaining a strong connection with the community and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Coach and inspire a team to meet or exceed maintenance objectives, uphold company values and standards, and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain partnerships with local nature and recreation groups, organizations, and stakeholders to promote the park's conservation values and community relations.
  • Program Development: Work with the park interpreter to create engaging outdoor education and program opportunities for local schools and the general public.
  • Social Media: Utilize social media platforms to connect with the community, share conservation values, and promote the park's activities.
  • Park Operations: Balance multiple tasks and priorities, ensure safety and quality standards, and create staff schedules.
Qualifications:
  • Leadership Experience: A strong desire to lead, motivate, and supervise a team, with a commitment to top performance in a safe work environment.
  • Environmental Knowledge: Knowledge relating to local flora and fauna is considered an asset, although not required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks at times.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral communication skills in corporate and casual settings, with the ability to communicate strategically with staff, community, senior managers, and executives.
  • Education and Experience: A related post-secondary education in Hospitality/Tourism, Forestry, Environmental Management, Biology, or equivalent is considered an asset, along with 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
