Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Worker II will provide support and services to victims of domestic violence as part of the Partner Assault Response (PAR) Program. This part-time position requires a strong understanding of domestic violence, mental health, and addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safety planning, support, and referrals to community resources for victims of domestic violence.
  • Record contacts and contact attempts with victims and offenders.
  • Know and maintain confidentiality practices and limits.
  • Provide information to victims to help them make informed decisions about their safety and relationships.
  • Complete quarterly statistics for partner contacts.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant health-related discipline.
  • Two years' experience working in Adult Mental Health and Addiction.
  • Knowledge of partner abuse, child abuse, and the dynamics of violence and abuse.
  • Ability to articulate an analysis of domestic violence and its effects on women and children.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to work independently and interdependently.
  • Ability to work within Mental Health Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, and Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care guidelines.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position requiring evening shifts and occasional work outside of regular business hours. A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector police records check is required.
