Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor
About the Role:
AltaGas is seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor to join our team. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal audit function and providing assurance to management and the board of directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform complex internal audits across operational, compliance, financial, and technology domains.
- Develop and document audit issues and recommendations using critical thinking and independent judgment.
- Present audit and consulting project results through written reports and oral presentations to management.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and staff through individual contacts and group meetings.
- Identify and evaluate organizational risk areas and contribute to the development of the annual audit plan.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of assurance experience, with a proven track record in leading a team and conducting audits.
- Strong knowledge of internal auditing and accounting principles, management principles, and preferred business practices.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and draw logical conclusions.
- Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
- Currently holding or actively pursuing a CPA, CIA, CISA, or an equivalent certification.
