We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Internal Auditor to join our team at AltaGas Ltd. in Alberta. As a key member of our internal audit team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, compliance, and risk-awareness of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform complex internal audits across operational, compliance, financial, and technology domains.
- Drive continuous improvement in audit processes and contribute to the annual audit plan.
- Provide training to audit staff and consultants, and uphold the highest organizational and professional ethical standards.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with clients and staff through individual contacts and group meetings.
- Represent internal audit on project teams, at management meetings, and with external organizations.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of assurance experience, with a proven track record in leading a team and conducting audits.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and draw logical conclusions.
- Attention to detail, with precision in reviewing documents and identifying discrepancies.
- Critical thinking, with the ability to think independently and challenge assumptions.
- Adaptability, with flexibility to adjust to new challenges and changing environments.
- Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal.
- Strong knowledge of internal auditing and accounting principles, management principles, and preferred business practices.
- Currently holding or actively pursuing a CPA, CIA, CISA, or an equivalent certification.
