Job Summary

Sun Life is seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Disability Case Manager to join our team. As a Disability Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing disability claims to resolution, working closely with clients and medical professionals to ensure timely recovery and return to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine eligibility for short and long-term disability, salary continuance benefits, and assess claims
  • Implement interventions to support timely recovery and return to work
  • Build strong relationships with clients, employers, and employees
  • Lead clients during the absence and return to work period
  • Drive telephone interviews to obtain information and ensure complete understanding of the absence and types of support required
  • Identify and assess medical and non-medical influencing factors, functional capability, restrictions, and limitations
Requirements
  • All post-secondary degrees are welcomed
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written) is required
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with complex claims and contracts
  • Proactive and innovative
  • Great communicator with authentic care and empathy
  • Resilient and able to handle difficult and stressful situations
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable using multiple platforms and systems
