Registered Midwife

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Registered Midwife to join our team. As a midwife, you will provide safe, flexible primary care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period.
You will be responsible for clinical decisions and the management of care within your scope of practice. This includes providing care to women and newborns in various settings, such as in the client's home, community clinics, and hospitals, in accordance with the Midwifery Model of Practice and the Standards of the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia.
The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree from a Canadian university midwifery education program or equivalent qualifications. You must also have an active practicing license or eligibility for active practice license from the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia.
We are looking for a midwife who is able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be required to have access to reliable transportation and be able to travel to various locations.
The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, flexible primary care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period
- Make clinical decisions and manage care within your scope of practice
- Provide care to women and newborns in various settings, including in the client's home, community clinics, and hospitals
- Work independently and as part of a team

Requirements:
