We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Midwife to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a midwife, you will play a vital role in providing safe, flexible primary care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and their newborns
- Conduct physical examinations, screening and diagnostic tests, and assessments of risk and abnormal conditions
- Deliver normal vaginal births and work collaboratively with other health professionals as needed
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
We are looking for a midwife who possesses:
- A baccalaureate degree from a Canadian university midwifery education program or equivalent qualifications
- An active practicing license or eligibility for active practice license from the Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Emergency Skills in Obstetrics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care
We offer a competitive salary of $57.05 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and travel insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
