At Linesteel (1973) Limited, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Overhead Crane Specialist, you will be responsible for operating bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials. Your duties will also include tending or operating equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings, and selecting appropriate paint or mix paints.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, and the ability to handle heavy loads. You will also be required to work in a physically demanding environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials
  • Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings
  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints
  • Prepare and mix metallizing solutions according to formulas or specifications
  • Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment
  • Clean work area

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Strong attention to detail and hand-eye co-ordination
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling
