About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Safety Specialist to develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Compensation
This role offers a competitive base salary of $85,000 per year, along with generous accrued vacation time, employer RRSP matching program, company-paid extended health coverage, and basic life insurance.
Responsibilities
- Implement effective Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs across multiple dealerships.
- Lead HSE risk management, monitor effectiveness, and report on organizational performance.
- Mentor team members to positively impact the safety culture and engage with operational staff.
- Investigate accidents or incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, safety regulations, and provide technical training as required.
- Travel inter-provincially for business purposes.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- At least five years of experience in a similar position, with excellent computer skills and knowledge of safety management software.
- Able to travel regularly and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Previous experience in the automotive or heavy truck industry is an asset.
