At SPICE ENROUTE, we are seeking an experienced Artisanal Pastry Specialist to join our team.
About the RoleWe offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job DescriptionThe Artisanal Pastry Specialist will be responsible for preparing dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes. The successful candidate will also be required to prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
This role involves requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies, as well as training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food. The Artisanal Pastry Specialist must be able to bake mixed dough and batters, frost and decorate cakes and baked goods, and organize and maintain inventory.
We are looking for someone with experience in baking and pastry-making, particularly in specialty areas such as breads and rolls, desserts and pastries, and wedding and specialty cakes.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Experience in baking and pastry-making
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in baking and pastry arts an asset
