At Localize, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our US-based remote team.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the infrastructure, APIs, and databases that power our core product.

The ideal candidate will have at least six years of experience in backend development and a strong understanding of scalable and performant back-end platforms.

You will lead the development of our backend platform, working closely with our product and customer-facing teams to deliver high-quality features and maintain a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize document (NoSQL) databases for scalability and performance
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs that power our front-end applications
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and participate in peer code reviews
  • Collaborate with our remote team to deliver high-quality features and maintain our product
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and architectures, and suggest improvements for our product and processes

Our Core Stack: Experience with our specific technologies is a plus, but not strictly required

  • JavaScript: React/Redux on Front End, Node/Express on the Back End
  • Datastores: MongoDB, Redis
  • Infrastructure: AWS: Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, Elasticache, Cloudfront, Cloudflare
