Clinical Leader in Community Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Leader to join our team at the Department of Psychiatry, Manitoba Health. This exciting opportunity involves providing community services to individuals with severe mental illness disorders, addictions, and intellectual disabilities.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will have overall clinical responsibility for monitoring client treatment and staff delivery of clinical services. They will be responsible for psychiatric and medical assessment, treatment, and management of program participants within their scope of expertise or liaising with appropriate services when out of scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in planning and coordination of comprehensive team services for program participants.
- Provide psychiatric support to the HUB as needed on a consult basis.
- Clinical supervision, education, and training of other staff.
- Development, maintenance, and supervision of medication and psychiatric and medical treatment policies and procedures.
- Review, follow-up, and order blood work, in conjunction with Team Lead/Nursing, for assigned participants.
- Arrange for clients to be admitted to hospital when required and liaise with hospital staff while the ACT client is in hospital.
- Expectation to provide input and leadership in all aspects regarding participant recovery and community living.
- Participate in development and maintenance of working relationships with other Shared Health Manitoba and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Mental Health services and other government agencies.
- Supervise residents and medical students who may be on rotation, elective, or community exposure, etc.
- Participate in evaluative measures and research studies.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Psychiatry. Training and experience in psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery models, as well as clinical experience with severe mental illness disorders, addictions, and intellectual disabilities, are essential.
