As a Data Integrity Coordinator Assistant at FortisBC, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the electrical utility industry. We are a leading energy provider with over 100 years of knowledge and experience.
Position OverviewWe're looking for highly motivated individuals who embody integrity, teamwork, and accountability. If you're passionate about GIS and eager to learn, this role may be perfect for you.
Responsibilities- You will work alongside an experienced Data Integrity Coordinator to create and update asset data in our GIS system.
- Spatially adjust facilities data to landbase for a targeted pilot area.
- Gain hands-on experience in how a utility company relies on GIS for its business processes.
- Become proficient in ArcGIS, ArcFM, and other GIS applications used by FortisBC.
- Develop a deep understanding of our Transmission and Distribution Electrical system within our service area.
- To be eligible, you must have graduated high school and be enrolled or returning to a post-secondary technology institution.
- Pursuing a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program, preferably in your second or third year.
- Currently participating in a recognized Co-op Program.
- A valid driver's license and current abstract are required.
- Experience with or knowledge of ArcGIS and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are necessary.
- Strong general clerical skills, including typing, drafting letters, and memos.
- Familiarity with basic computer software.
- Experience in an electrical utility environment is an asset.
