About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead our team with integrity and responsibility. This role model will hold a focus on success while providing insight for development and growth to their staff and the whole of the company, helping to shape Mud Bay's future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Development: Strive to continuously grow and develop in an education-rich environment, focusing on dogs, cats, and small animals' health and nutrition.
  • Customer Experience: Lead by example, train and mentor staff to help contribute to sales growth by continuously providing great customer experience through conversations that focus on finding solutions and graciously fulfilling our customers' needs.
  • Store Maintenance: Lead, train, and work with the team throughout the day, to maintain an inviting, attractive store by continuously cleaning, organizing, receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing inventory.
  • Financial Management: Perform transactions at the point of sale, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and other financial procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Talent Development: Contribute to the team's growth, development, and overall performance by creating strong relationships built with fair delegation, encouragement, empowerment, and frequent communication.
  • Community Engagement: Contribute to community presence by creating and developing relationships with neighboring businesses, shelters, or residences.
Requirements
  • Leadership Skills: Must be 18 years or older and responsible for leading a shift while training.
  • Math and Computer Skills: Competent with basic math, comfortable using computers, calculators, and 10-keys.
  • Pet Knowledge: Passionate about continuously learning about dogs, cats, and small animals.
  • Self-Starter: A self-starter, but happy to take direction and learn from others.
  • Long-term Commitment: Interested in building a career with Mud Bay.
