Business Solutions Program Manager

The City of Calgary is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager, Business Solutions to lead the development and implementation of a program aimed at modernizing City operations by integrating emerging technologies and business solutions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building, designing, and implementing programs of multiple projects, collaborating with teams across various business units, and leveraging input from corporate partners to establish strategic priorities and multi-year objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Business, Finance, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field, and at least 5 years of leadership experience with programs/projects of significant scope and budget. They will be an effective communicator and leader with a commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, and demonstrated business and political acumen.
The Program Manager, Business Solutions will be responsible for:
- Designing a coordinated delivery approach for strategic portfolios and program management
- Leveraging input from corporate partners to establish strategic priorities and multi-year objectives
- Developing an efficient program-wide framework for risk and issue management
- Creating a network of multi-disciplinary projects and making timely decisions to adjust priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Designing, establishing, and cultivating a team of experts to ensure successful delivery of the program's mandates and objectives
- Setting goals, recruiting, training staff, and monitoring team performance on multi-disciplinary teams across multiple business units
- Enhancing program performance by gathering feedback and insights from employees, leaders, and strategic partnerships
- Creating budget and program plans for multi-million-dollar programs
- Conducting financial analysis, creating reports, and making decisions using data from financial statements to enhance budgeting strategies and develop additional plans
- Establishing and managing cross-corporate governance structure, framework, and processes for a multi-year program while overseeing the functions of various decisions to ensure project and program targets and deliverables are met on time and on budget
