Senior Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for managing strategic contracts, conducting market research, and providing business coaching to procurement specialists.
Key Responsibilities- Manage complex contracts for goods and services, ensuring maximum contracting efficiency and technical suitability.
- Conduct market research and analyze quotations to negotiate terms and conditions.
- Provide support to capital projects by coordinating procurement activities and ensuring project targets are met.
- Develop and implement procurement procedures and policies, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Provide business coaching and mentoring to procurement specialists, promoting continuous improvement and excellence.
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent designation.
- Eight (8) years recent, related procurement experience.
- Extensive knowledge of markets and Supply Chain Management best practices and trends.
- Strong business knowledge in a regulated gas utility industry.
- Strong working knowledge of procurement procedures and practices, as well as materials resource planning and forecasting.
