Job Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 3, Sideloader Refuse vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. This includes inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining the equipment, as well as performing daily pre-and post-trip inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a Side Load tandem truck on assigned routes to fill contractual requirements, ensuring timely and safe completion;
  • Responsible for daily inspection and maintenance of trucks, reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors;
  • Load and unload heavy materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions;
  • Maintain communication with dispatchers and supervisors to receive instructions and updates;
  • Advise supervisors of any maintenance or repair needs, ensuring prompt attention to minimize downtime;
  • Report any driving infractions or suspensions, prioritizing safe operation at all times;
  • Perform end-of-day driver check-ins, ensuring complete and accurate paperwork completion;
  • Be aware of surroundings at all times, ensuring the safety of fellow employees and adhering to safety policies;
  • Ensure a safe work environment by using appropriate tools and equipment for tasks, following established procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driver abstract;
  • Class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement in good standing;
  • Ability to follow a set schedule, working independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers and supervisors;
  • Good coordination, lifting 20-75 pounds on a regular basis, and proven multi-tasking capabilities;
  • Previous waste and recycling experience is preferred, with residential curbside collection experience being an asset;
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.

Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive compensation package, including an estimated salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package after three months of continuous employment.
