Job Overview


The Senior Manager, Process Automation is a critical role within the Strategy & Operations, Process Automation team supporting Retail and Business Banking Operations in Canada.


We are seeking an experienced professional to contribute to the overall success of our team by executing specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives that support our business strategies and objectives.



Responsibilities:

  • Champion a client-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Work closely with assigned business units to develop automation roadmaps and set priorities using data, cost/benefit analysis, process analysis, and data visualization.
  • Lead feasibility and impact assessments of new projects and automation opportunities, recommending future state process, system, and reporting requirements as needed.
  • Deliver and execute assigned initiatives, considering key aspects like planning, scheduling, resourcing, risk assessment, cost/benefit analysis, and time/cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project participants and stakeholders to maintain support, negotiate priorities, and ensure initiatives stay on track.
  • Represent assigned business units during project activities, ensuring SMEs and leadership are consulted as required.
  • Oversee direct reports (as applicable) and delegate initiative tasks and assignments to support business unit strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage initiative implementation plans based on a strong understanding of impact on the business and key support functions.
  • Support post-implementation monitoring of changes, documenting issues, validating committed benefits, and conducting project closure activities.
  • Evaluate potential threats, establish mitigation plans, and develop scenarios for minimizing risks.
  • Maintain adherence to Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, Global Sales Principles, and day-to-day business controls to meet obligations related to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team.


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Commercial and Retail products, services, policies, and procedures, banking regulations, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to develop compelling business cases, including cost/benefit analysis and detailed requirements.
  • Understanding of project management principles, methodology, and tools, with experience in Agile project methodologies.
  • Strong conflict management skills to negotiate effective issue resolution.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to present information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and under pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities, and resolve problems timely.
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills with proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.


Location:

This role is based in Toronto, Ontario, with occasional travel to Mississauga, Ontario.



Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
