Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animal Control Department Manager to join our team at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center. As a key member of our Field Services team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Animal Control Officers and ensuring the effective delivery of animal control services to our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of Animal Control Officers, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure they have the tools and resources needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Animal Control Field Services team, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure team members are meeting performance expectations.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of Animal Control Officers, ensuring they are equipped to handle a wide range of animal control situations.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to promote animal welfare and provide education on animal control services.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum four years of progressively responsible work experience in an animal control environment, including supervisory experience.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted regularly, 50+ pounds assisted.
