Job Overview
">This position is available in a collaborative team environment where the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist functions as an expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher in a designated specialty area. The specialist will provide consultation services to internal and external healthcare professionals and apply advanced level of theory to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of pharmaceutical care in the designated specialty area.
Responsibilities
">The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical direction on complex cases, including the use of evidence-based approaches to evaluating drug therapy. They will also review medication histories, provide drug information, patient education, and discharge consultations, and provide recommendations in the planning and treatment assessment policies and procedures in the designated specialty area.
The specialist will ensure quality assurance programs for the designated specialty area are maintained and policies and procedures followed according to departmental guidelines. They will identify and troubleshoot inconsistencies, develop standards, ensure regular audits are conducted, and take corrective action as required.
The specialist will also participate in quality improvement activities by maintaining information relevant to the designated specialty area, reviewing and ensuring adherence to established program policies and procedures, recommending program modifications to the Director, Pharmacy Services, and preparing reports as required.
Qualifications
">To be considered for this role, applicants must have current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia. A certificate of completion of year 1 and year 2 of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program accredited by the Canadian Pharmacy Residency Board (CPRB) supplemented by two (2) years' recent, relevant hospital pharmacy experience, including one (1) year's pharmacy experience in the designated specialty area or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
Salary Information
">The estimated annual salary for this position is $110,000 - $140,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience. This compensation package includes comprehensive health benefits coverage.
