Join Our Team as a Technical Accounting Manager

At TSX Inc., we're seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our accounting and financial reporting cycle, you'll provide support and guidance on technical accounting matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS Accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze transactions and document accounting positions to ensure accurate accounting and disclosure.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, business combination, leases, share-based payments, and hedge accounting.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new and emerging accounting standards and lead the implementations as applicable to the company.
  • Provide technical accounting training to the broader finance team and business partners.
  • Responsible for the general ledger structure and consolidation rules in Workday to ensure financial statements reflect company organization and filing requirements.
  • Build and maintain accounting policies and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
  • Direct month-end and quarter-end accounting and financial reporting activities for the parent company and certain subsidiaries.
  • Review subsidiaries' financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with external auditors during quarterly interim reviews and year-end audit.
  • Lead all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting for defined benefit plans.
  • Recommend operational improvements and participate in the implementation of projects.
  • Foster positive relationships with management throughout the company to better understand and consult on business issues.
Requirements:
  • University undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.
  • Canadian CPA designation (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting and/or financial reporting role in a publicly-traded company.
  • In-depth understanding of IFRS Accounting Standards and working knowledge of external reporting requirements for publicly traded companies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with superior presentation skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with a big-picture strategic understanding.
  • Effective and positive management style supporting staff through example, coaching, and development.
  • Works effectively across organizational lines and promotes an effective team-based environment.
