Job Opportunity: Journeymen Powerline Technicians and Apprentices

Valard Construction LP, a leading utility contractor, is seeking self-motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team in Drayton Valley, AB. As a Journeymen Powerline Technician or Apprentice, you will be part of a dynamic team providing crucial support to our projects.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal certification as a Journeymen Powerline Technician
  • Class 5 license minimum, with preference given to 1 and 3 licenses
  • Experience in climbing wood pole structures
  • Training in craning and rigging
  • 25kV Rubber Glove experience considered an asset
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working on ATCO and Fortis utility systems
  • Working at Heights certification
  • Familiarity with operating and maintaining heavy equipment
  • Experience in maintenance and construction of distribution lines, with the ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Qualified switchman for ATCO and Fortis systems considered an asset
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours
  • Safety-oriented mindset
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic
