Executive Director – Burlington Performing Arts Centre

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our team. As the chief operating officer, you will be responsible for maintaining an effective and fiscally responsible operating model for the performing arts centre.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will oversee the general operations, financial management, and reporting of the centre.
- You will be responsible for programming, strategy implementation, general administration, revenue generation, and community liaison.
- You will lead a team of 12 full-time and 45 part-time staff, as well as 130 volunteers.
- You will represent the Centre to the public, media, and performing arts industry-at-large through leadership and participation in community activities.
The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is a 63,000 sq. foot facility located in the heart of downtown Burlington. It is a LEED-certified venue that hosts a variety of performances, festivals, and community events.

QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have previous senior experience in leading performing arts venues, a minimum of seven years of not-for-profit arts venue management with budgets of $1-5 million, and a university degree in arts and/or business management or equivalent experience in facility management and administration.
The Executive Director will have excellent financial and organizational skills, with demonstrated leadership in human resources management, community partnerships, board relations, and fund-raising.
A good knowledge of programming, producing, and festival management would be essential. Other necessary characteristics would include political savvy and diplomacy, good oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of ancillary businesses such as catering, ticketing, corporate rentals, and the like.
