Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team at Royal Star Enterprises Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance and upkeep of our outdoor spaces, including landscaping, hardscaping, and other related tasks.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Estimate the resources required for each project, ensuring that we have the necessary materials and staff to complete tasks on time and within budget.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of decks, walls, and other outdoor structures, ensuring they are built to the highest standards.
  • Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Develop and implement plans for landscape construction projects, including the selection of materials, equipment, and staff.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of all work performed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues that arise.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers and contractors, ensuring that we get the best value for our money.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Source and procure the necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for our outdoor spaces.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues that arise during work, provide technical guidance to staff, and recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement schedules and procedures for our outdoor spaces, ensuring that they are safe, efficient, and effective.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoor work site environment.
  • Tasks: Hire, supervise, and schedule staff, plan and direct grounds maintenance, plan and estimate labour and materials, organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls, plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work, maintain work records and logs, tender and administer contracts, requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies, resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality, establish work schedules and procedures.
  • Supervision: Working groups.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Duration of Employment: Permanent.
  • Language of Work: English.
