Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new mechanical systems and equipment, as well as improving existing processes and products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop 3D CAD models of mechanical systems and parts for new equipment
- Identify and implement improvements to production lines to increase safety and efficiency
- Develop and implement solutions to technical problems
- Support the implementation of new processes and procedures
- Validate designs, calculations, and simulations
- Perform tolerance testing of mechanical parts and assemblies
- Analyze and solve technical problems
- Optimize current equipment to increase production efficiencies
- Prepare test bench marking
- Procure parts and materials
- Participate in the physical assembly of equipment and prototypes
- Supervise and mentor other engineers and designers
- Participate in project timeline and budget building
Requirements
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Member of the OIQ (Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec)
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent expertise in SolidWorks
- Innovative mindset and ability to work as a team
- Previous experience with conveyor systems
- Availability to travel occasionally (20% of the time)
- Bilingual English/French (spoken and written)
- Previous experience or knowledge in welding, machining, or other metalworking (asset)
- Knowledge of the concrete industry (asset)
