About the Role

Techo-Bloc is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in driving innovation and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and create 3D CAD models of mechanical systems and parts for new equipment
  • Identify improvements to be made on production lines to increase safety and efficiency
  • Find improvement solutions and implement new processes
  • Validate designs, calculations, and simulations
  • Perform tolerance testing of mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Analyze and help solve technical problems
  • Optimize current equipment to increase production efficiencies
  • Prepare test bench marking
  • Procure parts and obtain best prices and lead times
  • Participate in the physical assembly of equipment and prototypes
  • Supervise and mentor other engineers/designers and mechanics
  • Participate in project timeline and budget building
Requirements
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec)
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in design in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent expertise of SolidWorks
  • Innovative mind and ability to work as a team
  • Previous experience with conveyor systems
  • Availability to travel occasionally in Quebec, Ontario, and the USA (20% of the time)
  • Bilingual English/French – spoken and written (English is necessary to serve our customers in the USA)
  • Previous experience or knowledge in welding, machining, or other metalworking will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the concrete industry, an asset but not required. Training will be provided.
