Program Overview

The Seabird Island Band is excited to offer a unique summer employment program for secondary students. This program provides a fully licensed environment for children aged 6-12, with a focus on culturally sensitive activities and experiences.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing culturally appropriate activities and experiences for children.
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment, including daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and record keeping.
  • Assist in field trips and daily events.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 15 years old and have a valid Social Insurance number.
  • Must have a bank account and a BC Services Card.
  • First Aid, Babysitting, and Food Safe certificates are an asset.
  • Experience working with children is required.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and effectively interact with children.
  • Ability to lift children alone or in pairs and participate in physical activities.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Knowledge, respect, and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions, and language or willingness to learn.
