Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Post-Secondary Summer Employment Program Assistant in Early Childhood Education. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with children aged 6-12, providing a safe and healthy environment that fosters their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and implementing culturally appropriate activities and experiences for children
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment, including daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and record-keeping
  • Assist in field trips and daily events
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the Supervisor
Requirements
  • Must be at least 15 years old and have a valid Social Insurance number
  • Must have a bank account and a BC Services Card
  • First Aid, Babysitting, and Food Safe certificates are an asset
  • Responsible adult training or 20 hours of childcare-related training is an asset
  • Experience working with children is required
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and effectively interact with children
  • Ability to lift children alone or in pairs and participate in physical activities
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Knowledge, respect, and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions, and language or willingness to learn
