Early Childhood Education Program Assistant

The Seabird Island Band is excited to offer a unique summer employment opportunity for post-secondary students in the field of early childhood education. Our program is designed to provide a safe and culturally sensitive environment for children aged 6-12, with a focus on enriching their lives through fun and engaging activities.
Job Responsibilities- Assist in planning and implementing culturally appropriate activities and experiences for children
- Provide a safe and healthy environment, including daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, and record-keeping
- Assist in field trips and daily events
- Report any incidents or concerns to the supervisor
- Must be 15 years of age or older and returning to school
- Must have a valid Social Insurance number
- Must be enrolled in full-time Post-Secondary School during and returning full-time in September
- Must have a Bank account and a BC Services Card
- First Aid, Babysitting, Food Safe, certificates would be an asset
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work as a member of a team and effectively interact with children
- Access to internal training programs and professional development
- Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
- Casual dress code
- Opportunity to develop additional skills and knowledge
