About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Utility Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Your primary responsibilities will include performing general repetitive tasks in maintaining assigned areas, adhering to established standards and proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques. You will also participate in On-the-Job Training programs, seek clarification of duties when needed, and offer assistance and/or instruction to colleagues.

As a Utility Worker, you will be responsible for observing all hospital and departmental personnel policies, particularly regarding patient confidentiality. You will also practice and promote safety awareness, report any suspected safety hazards, and participate in departmental quality management and continuing education programs.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods in a healthcare setting is an asset. Good communication skills are essential, and competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation
