About the Opportunity

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is a leading supplier of custom equipment and process systems for the Nuclear industry in Canada. The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions.

The position requires a Senior Lead Auditor with experience in supplier oversight and assessment. The role involves managing cross-disciplined teams, developing surveillance and oversight plans, and resolving complex supplier quality issues. Additionally, the individual will perform verification and acceptance activities, generate certification documents, and lead assessments of the global supply base.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, lead auditor qualifications (ANSI 45.2.23/N QA-1), and working knowledge of US NRC Regulations and European Standards. Experience in an engineering, procurement, and operations environment from the nuclear industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mentor and develop less senior personnel in verification activities, supplier oversight, and resolution of quality issues.
  2. Manage cross-functional teams in supplier oversight activities to verify suppliers have implemented a Quality Assurance Program commensurate with their items/services.
  3. Develop and implement supplier surveillance and oversight plans for complex procurements to ensure compliance with quality and technical standards.
  4. Lead the resolution of complex supplier quality issues impacting product quality.
  5. Perform verification and acceptance activities to confirm suppliers meet purchase order requirements.
  6. Integrate projects across functional areas, monitor progress, and direct teams to achieve established quality objectives within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  7. Generate robust certification documents identifying procurement requirements met by purchased material or equipment.
  8. Assess and maintain the global supply base for compliance with regulations, codes, and standards.
  9. Evaluate supplier quality plans, procedures, and processes for compliance with Westinghouse Engineering requirements.
  10. Review procurement documents for technical and quality requirements translation from design documents and customer contracts.
  11. Follow up on supplier corrective actions, evaluate responses, and ensure objective evidence substantiates adequate closure.
  12. Apply advanced quality control techniques and statistical methods to identify deviations, provide trend data, and suggest solutions to high-priority quality issues.
  13. Provide input to business development, supply chain, and other departments concerning supplier qualification and development.
  14. Write detailed segments of QA plans/programs according to current U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Westinghouse, and customer QA standards for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
  15. Act as the primary Supplier Quality interface for bid specifications, licensing write-ups, proposals, purchase order requisitions, supplier submittals, and other documentation.
  16. Investigate and report on compliance with technical specifications and verify accuracy of procedures, tests, and records.
  17. Develop, recommend, and implement Business Unit Quality policies and systems in accordance with customer requirements, applicable standards, and regulations.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 4 years of supplier oversight and/or assessment experience.
  2. Experience in an engineering, procurement, and operations environment from the nuclear industry.
  3. Capability to integrate quality/technical knowledge with business acumen to influence external organizations.
  4. Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions to mitigate risk.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical requirements and regulatory compliance information across language barriers.
  6. Capability to explain QA policies and procedures clearly and concisely to internal personnel and external customers.
  7. Ability to gain cooperation and build relationships across organizational boundaries.
  8. Presentation skills to provide information and influence desired outcomes.
  9. Ability to create knowledge transfer and retention strategies for future resources.
  10. Emotional intelligence and ownership of decisions and mistakes.

  15. Up to 75% travel required for international assignments.

Compensation and Benefits:

Westinghouse offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
