Clinical Dentist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dentist to join our team at the Durham Region Health Department. As a Clinical Dentist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients in our Oral Health Clinic.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide general dental clinical care, including examinations, radiographs, restorations, crowns, root canals, extractions, and denture care.
- Work with patients who present with complex medical histories, disabilities, or behavioral problems.
- Monitor and model best practices for infection prevention and control.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless access to care.
- Represent the Division in the community and educate the public on oral health and Public Health dental program policies and guidelines.
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited faculty of dentistry.
- Certificate to practice dentistry in Ontario, from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
- Minimum of 2 years' practice experience, with preference given to candidates with dental public health or hospital experience.
- Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access, or other databases.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS).
