Director, Competitive Intelligence & Insights – GWAM Asia

About the Role

Manulife is seeking a seasoned Director, Competitive Intelligence & Insights to join our Global Wealth & Asset Management (GWAM) team in Asia. As a critical partner to the AVP Competitive Intelligence & Insights, you will play a key role in helping Manulife maintain a competitive advantage and drive business growth in our Asia GWAM business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive competitive intelligence strategy to inform GWAM Asia's strategic planning and tactical decision-making.
  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of GWAM Asia market and competitor data to provide actionable insights to support business growth.
  • Proactively monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and market developments to identify opportunities and threats in the Asia GWAM competitive landscape.
  • Connect industry and competitor intel to Manulife's internal capabilities and strategies to provide actionable insights to the Asia business leadership, broader GWAM and MFC Executive Leadership, and Board of Directors.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-pollination of Asia GWAM intelligence and actions across the GWAM strategy and insights team to amplify the impact of our data and research.
  • Prepare and present cyclical competitive intelligence reports and findings to key stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Make recommendations on adjusting data sources, quality, and structure to evolve our intelligence capabilities.
  • Work with our shared services offshore function to streamline data collection, reporting, and analysis.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of competitive intelligence experience in financial services, with deep knowledge and experience in the Asia GWAM business.
  • Professional designation (MBA, CPA, CFA) an asset.
  • Result-oriented with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritize across multiple initiatives, drive accountability, and develop creative solutions where blueprints may not exist.
