About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality instructional materials and activities for our online and blended courses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop instructional materials, including lesson plans, educational resources, and assessment tools, that align with NSCC's curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the development of effective and engaging learning experiences.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in instructional design and adult learning theory.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of instructional materials and course development processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design, preferably in a post-secondary education setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design models, and educational technology.
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and Adobe Captivate.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), particularly Brightspace.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Working Conditions

Estimated Salary Range

$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
