Job Summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our Haven Entertainment Studios project team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing network features and functionality for our games using C++, Unreal Engine, and other tools.

Collaborating with gameplay programmers, designers, artists, and producers, you will ensure the network code meets the game design and performance requirements. Your expertise in network architecture, debugging, and optimization will be crucial in delivering seamless and smooth gameplay experiences for our players.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, implement, and test network features and functionality for our games.
  2. Collaborate with the development team to ensure network code meets game design and performance requirements.
  3. Debug and troubleshoot network issues and optimize systems for optimal latency.
  4. Research and evaluate new technologies and techniques to improve network performance, reliability, and security.
  5. Document and maintain network code and systems.
  6. Analyze performance metrics and optimize systems.
Requirements
  1. 8+ years of experience in the game industry with significant contributions to AAA titles in senior technical roles.
  2. Strong understanding of C++ language, Unreal Engine, and network programming concepts.
  3. Experience with online multiplayer game development, replication, synchronization, latency compensation, and hit detection.
  4. Knowledge of client/server architecture, data replication, synchronization, lag compensation, anti-cheat techniques, and server tick rates.
  5. Advanced debugging skills and proficiency with debugging tools and methods.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with UE5, Replication Graph, and Iris.
  2. Experience working on multiplayer titles and live games.
  3. Experience with PS5 development environment and toolkit.
