About the Opportunity

As a key member of our Facilities Management Services team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors at Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all assigned units, including patient rooms and public areas, are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. This will involve mopping, dusting, and vacuuming furniture, floors, and stairways, as well as buffing, scrubbing, and refinishing floors, moving and arranging furniture, and changing curtains and drapes.

You will work closely with the Assistant Manager - Facility Support Services to implement the principles and practices that guide our work, including our mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships, and inter-professional collaboration.

About You

We are looking for an individual who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent work experience
  • A commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Ability to operate equipment such as Taski spray buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and shampooers
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
