About the Role

The University of Lethbridge is seeking a highly skilled Awards Coordinator to promote and develop its internal and external awards program. This is a full-time, limited term position that will play a pivotal role in the University's reputation and profile.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement mechanisms to identify and recognize excellence in the academy, research, and non-academic employee recognition.
  2. Lead the development of successful nomination packages, including writing submissions and identifying nominators.
  3. Collaborate with the Communications and External Relations departments to develop communication strategies and create mechanisms to advertise award opportunities.
  4. Celebrate recipients of awards of distinction, both internally and externally, and contribute to recognition events and external publicity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field/discipline.
  • At least five years of related experience, with knowledge of the post-secondary education sector and its values.
  • Experience writing successful awards, grants, proposals, and knowledge of application strategies and techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Effective copy editing and organization skills.

Working at the University of Lethbridge

The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification review for AUPE positions, which may result in an adjusted classification level for this position. A key requirement is diplomacy in dealing with nominees and agencies, with a proven track record of consistent and timely delivery of projects. Confidentiality is imperative, and the successful candidate will have the ability to advise, encourage, and effectively promote the University's scholars, researchers, and non-academic employees.

Compensation

Starting salary range: $5,291.00 - $5,990.00 monthly. Full salary range: $5,291.00 - $6,687.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 12).
