Job Title: Sessional - Faculty CYCA 2000

A dynamic opportunity has arisen for a qualified professional to join Thompson Rivers University as a sessional lecturer in the School of Social Work and Human Service.

About the Position:

This faculty position is for the Winter 2025 term, teaching the course CYCA 2000 -Introduction to Professional Foundations of Child and Youth Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering a supportive learning environment, and contributing to the development of curriculum content.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Mastery in Child & Youth Care required; a Doctorate or Masters in a related discipline with another degree in Child and Youth Care will also be considered;
  • Successful experience in post-secondary education settings is desirable;
  • A minimum of five years of relevant practice experience and educational specialization for content-specific courses are essential;
  • Availability for scheduled course times, including Wednesday afternoons, is required;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods;
  • Proven capacity to build student understanding, empathy, and mutual respect through culturally appropriate curricula;

Compensation: The estimated annual salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 CAD, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
