We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to join our team at Keethanow Food Supermarket. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for handling accounts receivable, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Process payments and maintain accurate records in our accounts receivable database
- Apply payments accurately and in a timely manner to applicable accounts
- Maintain monthly reports on accounts receivable to assist finance officers
- Handle employee and customer inquiries regarding billing accounts
- Maintain purchase orders and invoicing databases
- Utilize strong database skills to enter, modify, and correct payments in our cashier application
- Develop and maintain strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and email
- Basic knowledge of the accounting cycle process
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask day-to-day functions
- Train and correct employee duties towards A/R as needed
- Make sound decisions independently for employees and customers
- Monitor and assist with front-line staff cashier's regulation and advise/report to manager regarding proper procedure
- Act as an ambassador for store policies, procedures, and public/social media at all times
- Maintain positive public relations on behalf of Keethanow Group of Businesses
- Follow and adhere to Keethanow Group of Businesses Personnel Policy Manual
- Perform other work-related duties as requested by immediate supervisor
- Minimum Certificate in Accounting or Business/Office Administration
- 1-2 years experience working as a finance assistant in a retail environment
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Good computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check/vulnerable sector check and SGI driver's abstract
