Job Description:
The Sr. Calculations Analyst is responsible for ensuring quality in all HOOPP processes, supporting the Operations Support and Actuarial Services area.
This position requires technical expertise to perform in-house reviews of all technical questions regarding calculations, utilizing the Plan Text and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Actuarial Solutions team with review or preparation of off-system calculation details, recommending enhancements to calculation standards and procedures.
- Act as a resource for ongoing operations and special projects, working with the internal HOOPP audit group as required.
- Support the Member Services Team with conducting processing reviews of cases for accuracy and quality, analyzing data to identify quality issues, preparing statistical reports summarizing findings, and recommending corrections and improvements to methodologies.
- Liaise with Client Services as applicable.
Requirements:
- University degree in actuarial science, math, or statistics.
- Five years of progressive experience in the pension industry.
- Solid knowledge of pension plan administration and governing legislation.
- Sound understanding of systems and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to transfer knowledge to team members.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and initiative.
- Effective report writing and stakeholder management skills.
