Detailed Job Description

As a key member of our team at Dairy Queen, we are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate - Cashier to join our crew. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for every guest who visits our store.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong passion for delivering outstanding results.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position with a 35-hour workweek, offering opportunities for growth and development within the company.

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, reflecting the value we place on our employees' hard work and dedication.

Responsibilities
  • Provide top-notch customer service, responding promptly to guest inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operate a cash register accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment efficiently and securely.
  • Restock shelves, maintain a clean and organized store environment, and ensure that all areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Process transactions, handle returns and exchanges, and assist customers with purchases as needed.
  • Greet customers warmly, engage in conversation, and build relationships to increase sales and drive repeat business.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, including prices, features, and benefits, to effectively answer customer questions and make recommendations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales targets, promote special offers, and implement marketing strategies to drive sales growth.
  • Participate in visual merchandising initiatives to create an inviting store atmosphere and showcase products effectively.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or previous retail experience an asset.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy when handling cash and operating a cash register.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and move quickly around the store as needed.
