Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team at Wan Da Wholesale Food Ltd. in Edmonton, AB. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing custom and standard cuts of meat, poultry, and fish for sale at our self-serve counters or according to customers' orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, bone, and otherwise prepare custom and standard cuts of meat, poultry, and fish for sale at self-serve counters or according to customers' orders.
- Prepare meat for special displays and delivery.
- Shape, lace, and tie roasts and other meats, poultry, or fish and may wrap or package fresh or frozen or prepared meats.
- Manage inventory, keep records of sales, and determine the amount, product line, and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements.
- Adhere to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and food safety standards.
- Ensure food storage conditions are adequate.
Qualifications:
- Language: English
- Secondary school education is usually required
- Experience in food stores is preferred
- On-the-job training will be provided
