Overview

Natural Factors seeks a highly skilled Data Governance Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving model governance, model inventory management, and model performance testing.

The successful candidate will have a quantitative background and experience in developing and managing control activities, assessing process completeness, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about data quality and risk management, and are able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain model governance frameworks that ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in sessions to gather and document requirements, contributing to Enterprise Model Risk Management (EMRM) submissions
  • Lead governance-related activities, including issue management, and prepare issue memo closures
  • Develop control frameworks, guidelines, and procedures to ensure data quality and risk mitigation
  • Design and implement controls and quality assurance tools to support data governance initiatives
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of model monitoring reports to ensure timely and accurate insights
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g., Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science)
  • Expertise in programming and querying languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Data Management, Model Governance, and Risk concepts
  • Prior working experience with model risk management frameworks, quality assurance frameworks, risk mitigation, and issue remediation
  • Prior experience with model validation and interacting with regulators (OSFI, OCC, Federal Reserve, etc.), internal, and external auditors
  • Strong knowledge of data quality controls and procedures documentation
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving and fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking skills with proven ability to drive results in a cross-functional environment
