- Assign Sales Workers to Duties: Assign sales workers to duties such as restocking shelves, operating the cash register, and handling customer transactions.
- Hire and Train New Staff: Hire and train new staff members to ensure they are equipped to handle the demands of working in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Establish Work Schedules: Establish work schedules for our sales staff to ensure that the store is adequately staffed at all times.
- Sell Merchandise: Sell merchandise to customers and ensure that our store is well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to help us make informed business decisions.
- Resolve Issues: Resolve any issues that may arise, such as customer complaints or supply shortages.
- Organize Inventory: Organize and maintain our inventory to ensure that we are not overstocked or understocked.
- Supervise Office and Volunteer Staff: Supervise and coordinate the activities of our office and volunteer staff to ensure that our store runs smoothly.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a retail environment.
- Work Site Environment: Non-smoking and air-conditioned.
- Work Setting: Retail business.
- Tasks: Supervise staff, assign sales workers to duties, hire and train new staff, establish work schedules, sell merchandise, prepare reports, resolve issues, organize inventory, supervise office and volunteer staff.
- Supervision: 3-4 people.
- Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract).
- Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, walking, sitting, standing for extended periods.
- Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, reliability, dependability, initiative.
