Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Truck Technician to join our team at our North Bay Peterbilt location. As a Truck Technician, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, buses, and coaches in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and Diagnose Equipment: Assess the working condition of trucks, trailers, buses, and coaches to identify areas that require repair or maintenance.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Use your technical skills to repair and maintain trucks, trailers, buses, and coaches to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Document Work Orders: Accurately document all work performed on work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
  • Ensure Safe Work Practices: Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Collaborate with Equipment Engineers: Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements.
  • Test and Verify Repairs: Road test equipment and verify repairs as required.
Requirements
  • Communication and Teamwork: Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Technical Knowledge: Outstanding knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
  • Time Management: Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Customer Service: Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
  • Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Mechanical Experience: Previous mechanical experience in a truck and coach environment is required.
  • Certified Journeyperson: Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred.
  • Electrical Diagnosis: Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset.
