About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team at Southlake Regional Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients in our acute medical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-focused care within the scope of practice, utilizing the three-factor framework of the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Function in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, including emergency codes;
  • Ensure that practice is consistent with entry-to-practice competencies, standards of practice, guidelines, and legislation;
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams;
  • Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to provide elements of care for patients/clients with complex health issues;
  • Provide consultation and/or clinical support to peers as needed;
  • Contribute to the assessment and documentation of each patient's health status on an ongoing basis;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care and evaluate its effectiveness;
  • Participate in the orientation/preceptorship of new staff members and students;
  • Assume charge nurse role when assigned;

Qualifications

  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certificate required;
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred;
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in acute hospital medical nursing, preferably within the last five years;
  • Knowledge of discharge planning and patient flow processes;
  • Experience with accessing, maintaining, and blood sampling from central venous access devices (CVAD);
  • Excellent physical assessment skills;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills;
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills;
  • Ability to function independently and as an interprofessional team member;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills;
  • Good working knowledge of Electronic Documentation;
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients, families, and staff.

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
